ESPN named a former Tennessee Vols standout as the one of the best value picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Cleveland Browns selected former Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson in the fourth round (No. 126 overall) on day three of the draft.
ESPN's Matt Miller noted that he had Sampson as his No. 64 overall prospect.
From ESPN: Sampson is a home run hitter who set the Tennessee single-season rushing record last season (1,491 yards) and has proved in his outstanding ability as a slasher and outside runner. This is one of the steals of the draft, as I had Sampson as my No. 64 overall prospect.
I thought there was a chance that Sampson would be selected in the second round of the draft, so it was a bit surprising to see him fall all the way to the fourth round (likely due to questions about his size at 5-foot-8/200 lbs).
The Baton Rouge native, however, has elite intangibles. He's a tough competitor who was a key team leader for a Tennessee team that reached the College Football Playoff in 2024.
Sampson will join one of his former Vols teammates, wide receiver Cedric Tillman, in Cleveland.
