Legendary college basketball announcer Dick Vitale had a college football take on Saturday that will infuriate Tennessee Vols fans.
Vitale sent a tweet in support of Alabama making the College Football Playoff, despite their two losses this season.
The longtime ESPN announcer tweeted that if the rule is the best four teams get in the playoff, then Alabama should be included.
Still think the Bama bias isn't real?
I mean, how can Vitale make that argument for Alabama but not a team like USC?
USC's second loss came in a conference championship game. And the Trojans' best win is on the road against No. 15 Oregon State while Alabama's best win is on the road against No. 20 Texas.
The Trojans also beat No. 17 UCLA and No. 21 Notre Dame (Bama has a win against No. 24 Mississippi State as well).
By the way, this isn't an argument for USC. It's just an example of how Alabama gets the benefit of the doubt from ESPN but other programs don't.
Tennessee should be ranked above the Crimson Tide by virtue of the Vols beating Bama head-to-head. UT also has a top 10 win (the Bama win) and they beat LSU by 27, a team that beat Alabama earlier this season.
There's simply no way around it — ESPN wants Alabama in the playoff badly. But there's absolutely zero justification for the Crimson Tide to make it, despite Vitale's tweet in support of Alabama.
