The Tennessee Vols looked like the best team in the nation for most of February and into early March before losing two games in a row ahead of the NCAA Tournament.

Tennessee dropped a home game to Kentucky and then played one of their worst games of the season in the SEC Tournament, falling 73-56 to Mississippi State.

Despite the rough showing in their last two games, ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas thinks the Vols will have a nice showing in the NCAA Tournament.

Bilas has Tennessee, which is a No. 2 seed in the Midwest region, cruising through the first few rounds of the NCAA Tournament before running into Purdue in the Elite Eight.

That's where Bilas has the Vols' tourney run coming to an end.

"These two teams played in Maui, and Purdue was difficult for the Vols to match up with," wrote Bilas on Monday. "The only caveat: (Dalton) Knecht is much better now. Still, I like Purdue to win."

Tennessee's Achilles' heel this season has been teams with a good big man. And Purdue's Zach Edey is the best big man in the country.

The Vols are certainly capable of beating Purdue. But based on what happened earlier in the season in the Vols' four point loss to the Boilermakers (plus the Vols' sloppy showing in the SEC Tourney), this a reasonable pick by Bilas.

Bilas has Purdue reaching the national championship game and losing to UConn.

Houston and Arizona are the other two teams that Bilas has reaching the Final Four in Glendale.
