Monday's news shows the SEC isn't doing the Tennessee Vols any favors in 2023
The SEC certainly isn't doing the Tennessee Vols any favors this season. And I'm not talking about the poor officiating that Tennessee has experienced this season (that's a conversation for another day…..though you know it's bad when even CBS Sports Gary Danielson is pointing out poor calls). The SEC certainly isn't doing the Tennessee Vols any favors this season.
And I'm not talking about the poor officiating that Tennessee has experienced this season (that's a conversation for another day…..though you know it's bad when even CBS Sports Gary Danielson is pointing out poor calls).
On Monday, the Vols learned that their road game against Kentucky on October 28 will kick off at 7:00 PM ET.
Another road game at night for the Vols.
Tennessee kicked off against Florida in the Swamp earlier this season at 7:00 PM ET. And they'll kick off against Alabama at 3:30 PM ET (a bit earlier, but not quite the same as a noon kick off in Tuscaloosa).
It feels like lately that Tennessee is having to face every program's best atmosphere.
And I get that it's part of life in the SEC. But it feels like teams usually get at least one reprieve a year from raucous environments (like the LSU game last season for the Vols).
Instead, Tennessee will once again have to deal with a hostile crowd. And while Kentucky isn't nearly as intimidating as the Swamp, it will still be a tough environment for Tennessee (Florida, for what it's worth, played at Kentucky at noon….though the Gators still lost).
Maybe the Vols will get lucky and they'll get a noon kick off for their game against Missouri on November 11.
