One of the Tennessee Vols’ new assistant coaches is already making a big impact on the recruiting trail.

Andrew Jackson (no, not the former US president), was hired earlier this offseason to serve as Tennessee’s LEOs coach (outside linebackers/EDGE). He replaced Levorn Harbin in that role for the Vols.

Tennessee’s new LEOs coach quickly has the Vols in the mix for 2027 EDGE Antwan Jackson.

“What really stands out to me about the Tennessee is the tradition and energy around the program,” said Antwan Jackson to On3 this week. “Also the relationship I’ve built with the new LEOs coach, Coach Jax (Andrew Jackson).”

Antwan Jackson isn’t highly rated, but he’s highly coveted

Antwan Jackson, 6-6/225 pounds from Memphis, TN, hasn’t been rated by 247Sports or On3, but he’s receiving significant attention from some of the top programs in college football.

According to On3, the 2027 EDGE will take official visits this spring/summer to Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Alabama.

Additionally, Antwan Jackson is receiving interest from Georgia.

“Georgia feels more strongly about Antwan Jackson than his rankings might indicate,” noted 247Sports’ Benjamin Wolk earlier this month. “Jackson is expected to make a visit to Athens at some point during the spring practice window.”

The Memphis product has oddly flown under the radar for much of his high school career, though a big junior season finally has him on the radar of many of the top programs in college football.

Antwan Jackson has the size and length to be a productive pass rusher in the SEC. We’ll see how this recruiting battle plays out over the next couple of months after he takes official visits.
