Former Tennessee Vols cornerback Kamal Hadden could end up being one of the biggest steals in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Hadden was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the sixth round of this year's draft. He likely would've been drafted higher, but he suffered a season-ending injury last October just as he was playing the best football of his career.

Kamal Hadden is already making plays for the Chiefs

Chiefs training camp got underway this week and Hadden is already making plays.

The official Chiefs Twitter/X.com account posted a video on Friday of an impressive Hadden pass breakup during a team period.

Hadden told reporters at the start of camp that he feels faster, stronger, and smarter as he prepares for his rookie season.

“I feel back (from his injured shoulder) when I feel like I’m back," said Hadden. “It’s really good to be back on the field. I feel like I’m more faster, I feel like I’m stronger, and mainly, I feel like I’m smarter, so that just the game took me out, but it helped me grow mentally and helped me grow as a man and as a player.”

Kansas City has an excellent reputation for developing defensive backs. And Hadden, despite being selected in the sixth round, has the talent to the start in the NFL. He still has a long way to go — preseason games haven't even started yet — but the former Vol is off to a nice start so far.

If Hadden can continue to earn reps and be consistent in training camp/preseason, he'll have a legitimate chance to be a contributor for the Chiefs this fall.
