Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Nico Iamaleava earned his first win as the UCLA Bruins’ starting quarterback this week.
Iamaleava led UCLA to a 42-37 upset win over the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday in Pasadena.
Former Vols QB Hendon Hooker reacts to Nico Iamaleava leading UCLA to an upset win over Penn State
Former Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker took to his Instagram story on Saturday night to react to Iamaleava and the Bruins’ win over Penn State.
“Hoop Brudda!!!” wrote Hooker on a post that showed Iamaleava’s stats from the win.
Iamaleava and Hooker were only briefly teammates at Tennessee (Iamaleava enrolled early in late 2022 and went through Orange Bowl practices with the Vols…Hooker was still with the team after tearing his ACL at the end of the regular season). The two quarterbacks, though, obviously spent quite a bit of time together during Iamaleava’s recruitment.
Despite the way his time in Knoxville ended, there’s still a lot of support for Iamaleava from former Vols teammates and players.
