The Tennessee Vols' quarterback situation right now is as good as it's been in a long time.

Redshirt senior Hendon Hooker will be the starter for the Vols in 2022 and he's a potential Heisman Trophy candidate. Hooker will be backed up by redshirt senior Joe Milton, who has one of the strongest arms in college football, and true freshman Tayven Jackson, a former four-star recruit who could be Tennessee's starter in 2023.

The Vols also have a commitment from 2023 five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleavea, one of the top-rated players in the nation.

A couple of years ago, the Vols' quarterback situation was bleak. Now it's one of the best in the SEC.

Of course, in college football, coaches never stop recruiting quarterbacks. They essentially have to always be looking a couple of years ahead.

That's why it's good news that Tennessee has the inside track to landing a 2025 quarterback that could end up being one of the best in the country.

Madden Iamaleava, the younger brother of Nico, is already receiving interest from Power-5 programs.

The California native has offers from Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee. More offers are sure to roll in for the talented young quarterback in the coming months/years.

Madden recently spoke to Rivals.com about his recruitment and he acknowledged that his older brother committing to the Vols will play a factor in his eventual decision.

"Nico going to Tennessee will play a role in my recruitment," said Madden. "He's already set the tone for me going from high school to college ball. I already have a great relationship with coach (Josh) Heupel and coach (Joey) Halzle. It's good to get in the quarterbacks' room with them and Nico to talk. We're continuing to build relationships every time we get out there."

Oddly enough, one of the programs currently recruiting the younger Iamaleava is Arkansas State.

Former Vols head coach Butch Jones is the head coach at Arkansas State. And he should know as well as anyone that he's not going to beat Tennessee (or any other SEC program) in this recruiting battle.

It's obviously very early in Madden's recruitment, but it sounds like the Vols are going to be the team to beat for Nico's younger brother.
