The Tennessee Vols enter October as the No. 4 team in the nation after moving up one spot in this week's AP Top 25 poll (thanks to Georgia's loss to Alabama).

Former Crimson Tide quarterback Greg McElroy, who is currently an analyst for ESPN, thinks the Vols should be a little higher than No. 4.

The former Alabama quarterback revealed on Monday what he thinks the top 15 in college football should look like right now and he has Tennessee at No. 3, one spot above Ohio State.

(Ohio State is No. 3 in the current AP Top 25 poll.)

"Tennessee should be No. 3," said McElroy. "They beat a ranked Oklahoma team. That Oklahoma team went to Auburn and survived. So I think that Oklahoma team is still solid. And Tennessee, the way they beat them, I know it was by 10 and people will point to the margin of victory as not that significant. Y'all — Tennessee, that 10 point margin of victory felt like 100 in that game, did it not? Anyone who watched it, you could've given Oklahoma 15 possessions and they might not have been able to chip away at that 10 point lead. So I'm going to put Tennessee at No. 3."

Oklahoma's win on the road against Auburn certainly makes the Vols' win against the Sooners look a lot better.

Of course, it's still incredibly early in the season. There's still two full months left to play before the College Football Playoff starts. Rankings in late September/early October don't mean a lot. They just tell you what's happened so far.

And so far, the Vols look like one of the top teams in the country.
