Former Alabama QB Greg McElroy gives the Tennessee Vols some in-season bulletin board material

The Tennessee Vols received some in-season bulletin board material this week via former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Greg McElroy.
McElroy, an ESPN college football analyst who also co-hosts McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning, doesn’t think Tennessee can play in the SEC Championship game this season.
On Tuesday’s McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning, McElroy and co-host Cole Cubelic went over which teams they believe can play in the SEC Championship game.
When Tennessee came up, McElroy offered a firm “no”.
“I say no,” said McElroy when asked if the Vols can play in the SEC Championship game.
(Cubelic, for what it’s worth, said yes to the Vols.)
Here’s McElroy’s SEC Championship game take on every team in the conference.
Alabama: Yes
Arkansas: No
Auburn: No
Florida: No
Georgia: Yes
Kentucky: No
LSU: No
Ole Miss: Yes
Mississippi State: No
Missouri: No
Oklahoma: No
South Carolina: No
Tennessee: No
Texas: Yes (he kind of flipped flopped on this one)
Texas A&M: Yes
Vanderbilt: No
I don’t know if Tennessee will play in the SEC Championship game this season (and neither does McElroy), but I know that the players and coaches in the Vols’ locker room believe they can. Maybe they can use McElroy’s slight as motivation for the rest of the season (it’s what Michael Jordan would’ve done…).
That wasn’t the only bulletin board material that Greg McElroy gave Tennessee
McElroy provided Vols quarterback Joey Aguilar with some bulletin board material this week, too.
The former Alabama quarterback pointed out his top 10 quarterbacks so far this season and he didn’t include Aguilar.
To make matters worse, Aguilar didn’t even make McElroy’s honorable mention list.

Maybe McElroy forgot Aguilar exists. Or maybe he just really can’t stand the Vols. Either way, it’s absurd that the SEC’s passing leader through the first month of the season isn’t one of the top 15 quarterbacks in the sport right now according to McElroy.
I don’t think anyone in Tennessee’s locker room really cares what McElroy thinks, but they’d still be wise to use it as motivation for the final seven games of the regular season.

‘That’s the bottom line’ – Mississippi State’s Jeff Lebby leaves no doubt how he feels about loss to Tennessee after reviewing the film
Mississippi State Bulldogs head coach Jeff Lebby said that his team “gave” 14 points to the Tennessee Vols on Saturday night in Starkville. Lebby’s comment was in reference to the two defensive touchdowns that Tennessee scored in the Vols’ 41-34 overtime win over the Bulldogs. The second-year Mississippi State head coach suggested that the game […]
