The Tennessee Vols are hoping to add some transfer defensive linemen to their roster this month.

Tennessee has a big need along their defensive line with numerous key contributors moving on after the 2025 season (Dominic Bailey, Bryson Eason, Joshua Josephs, etc).

The Vols, however, haven’t been able to close the deal with any transfer defensive linemen just yet.

On Tuesday, in fact, Wake Forest transfer defensive lineman Mateen Ibirogba, one of the Vols’ top targets, committed to Texas Tech without taking his planned visit to Tennessee.

Pittsburgh transfer defensive lineman set to visit Tennessee

CBS Sports college football insider Chris Hummer reported late Tuesday night that Pittsburgh transfer defensive lineman Francis Brewu is taking a visit to Tennessee on Wednesday.

Brewu will then visit Notre Dame on Thursday.

Clemson, Indiana, Miami, Ohio State, and Washington are also in the mix.

Brewu is a former three-star recruit from Columbus who signed with Pittsburgh during the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The Ohio native was named a freshman All-American in 2024 after totaling 15 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Brewu finished the 2025 season with 36 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble.

Tennessee badly needs some interior defensive line help. We’ll see how Brewu’s visit goes and whether the Vols can close the deal with the talented defensive lineman.
