Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Joe Milton started his NFL career off with a bang on Thursday night in his preseason debut with the New England Patriots.

Milton, a sixth round selection by the Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft, showed off his rushing ability with a couple of impressive scrambles, before later showing off his arm on an accurate touchdown throw against the Carolina Panthers.

The touchdown throw from Milton was particularly impressive. He quickly scanned the field before finding an open receiver while displaying a nice feel in the pocket.

Milton is currently battling Bailey Zappe for the Patriots' No. 3 quarterback job. New England is seemingly already locked in on Jacoby Brissett and rookie first round draft pick Drake Maye as their top two options.

Thursday night was a nice start for Milton's NFL career. But he'll have to show some consistency over the next couple of preseason games if he wants to have any chance at shaking up the depth chart.
