The Tennessee Vols are one of several programs recruiting 2027 three-star safety Kenneth Simon.
Simon, 6-foot-2/198 lbs from Brentwood, TN, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 37 safety in the nation and the No. 12 player in the state of Tennessee.
The talented defensive back is the son of former Vols linebacker Kevin Simon. (Kevin played at Tennessee from 2002 to 2005. He was a two-time All-SEC second team linebacker.)
Kevin Simon appreciates the way Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Vols are recruiting his son
The younger Simon and his father were in Neyland Stadium this past weekend for Tennessee’s loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Kevin mentioned on Wednesday on 99.1 The Sports Animal that Tennessee is doing a “heck of a job” recruiting his son.
“I had a quick exchange with Heupel and told him that I really appreciate the job that (Vols linebackers coach) William Inge and the whole staff are doing,” said Kevin. “They’re doing a heck of a job recruiting Ken, so it’s cool. I think some good things are going to happen in Tennessee.”
Kenneth also has offers from top SEC schools like Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.
It would be a surprise, though, if Tennessee doesn’t come out on top in this recruiting battle.
