A former Tennessee Vols assistant coach will be looking for a new job at the end of the season.

According to college basketball insider Adam Zagori, Providence head coach Kim English was informed “about a week ago” that he won’t return as the program’s head coach next season.

English was a well-regarded assistant coach at Tennessee from 2019 to 2021.

Providence athletic director Steve Napolillo was asked about the report on Wednesday night, and he didn’t necessarily deny it.

“Kim is the coach and as with all our coaches, I will evaluate at the end of the season,” said Napollio. “We have one game left and the Big East Tournament.”

Providence is 14-16 overall and 7-12 in conference play this season

English is 45-50 in three seasons at Providence. He went 34-29 in two seasons at George Mason prior to landing the head coach job at Providence.
