Former Tennessee Vols edge rusher Byron Young currently leads the NFL in an impressive stat.
According to Rams.com's Stu Jackson (via Next Gen Stats), Young, who is in his second season with the Los Angeles Rams, currently leads the NFL with four turnovers caused by pressure.
One of the instances where Young created a turnover by forcing pressure actually involved another former Vol.
Last month, Young nearly sacked Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love in the end zone for a safety. Love, however, managed to get the throw away. Unfortunately for Love, Rams defensive back Jaylen McCollough, a former Tennessee safety, intercepted the throw and returned it for a touchdown.
Young, who was selected by the Rams in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, had eight sacks while playing in all 17 games for the Rams as a rookie last season.
Through the first eight games of the 2024 season, Young has four sacks, 31 total tackles, and a forced fumble.
It's safe to say that the former Vol has been a bargain so far for the Rams.
