Former Tennessee Vols pitcher shows he's the toughest guy in MLB after getting hit in the face

I'm not sure there's anyone in MLB that's tougher than former Tennessee Vols LHP Garrett Crochet after what we saw on Sunday.
Crochet, who was traded from the Chicago White Sox to the Boston Red Sox ahead of the 2025 season, was hit in the face by a line drive on Sunday and, remarkably, he stayed in the game.
The former Vol took a line drive off his cheek/nose in a loss to the Minnesota Twins.
Crochet stayed in the game and actually struck out the next batter.
Fortunately for Crochet, he didn't take the full brunt of the line drive off his face.
There's nothing more terrifying for a pitcher than a line drive coming at your face. Most humans would probably need to take a few days off to consider if they want to ever get on the mound again. Pro athletes are obviously built different, but it's still incredibly impressive that Crochet was able to keep his composure and strike out the next batter.
Crochet is off to a great start with the Red Sox this season, pitching to a 2.02 ERA through his first eight starts of the season.
The former Vol received a six-year contract extension worth $170 million from Boston earlier this spring.
