Former Tennessee Vols defender having trouble finding a transfer destination

The NCAA transfer portal is simultaneously one of the best and worst things to happen to college football.
With coaches constantly on the move, I believe players deserve the opportunity to transfer and play immediately without having to sit out a year.
The transfer portal, however, isn't always the answer. Sometimes a player transfers simply because they want more playing time. Opportunities elsewhere, though, aren't always available.
We're starting to see players enter the transfer portal only to have trouble finding a new home.
Former Tennessee Vols linebacker Morven Joseph is one of those players.
Joseph, a former four-star recruit from Florida, signed with the Vols during the 2020 recruiting cycle under previous head coach Jeremy Pruitt.
The Florida native played in all 10 games for Tennessee in 2020, but he played in only two games under Josh Heupel this season.
In early November, Joseph announced he was entering the transfer portal.
Joseph, who was committed to Florida State at one point during the recruiting process, has yet to find a new home. He tweeted earlier this week that he is still looking for a transfer destination.
Every situation is different. There are legitimate reasons for entering the transfer portal. But sometimes the decision to enter the portal is a hasty reaction by a player to not seeing the field as often as they think they should.
It feels like there are a lot of players out there who think they should be seeing significant playing time as true freshmen or sophomores. Sometimes that's the case. But more often than not, it's the upper-classmen who see the most playing time. Those are the players who have been in the program for a couple of years and developed.
We live in an instant gratification society and college football is feeling the effects of it.
Some of these players — not necessarily Joseph because I don't know his personal situation — need to be patient and fall in love with the process instead of trying to skip to the results.
The transfer portal is like a big game of musical chairs. And some of these players are going to be left without a chair when the music stops playing.
