A former Tennessee Vols quarterback appeared to take a shot at Joe Milton during UT's 38-10 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday.

At the end of the first half, with Tennessee trailing 24-10, the Vols snapped the ball with eight seconds and no timeouts left to take a quick shot at the end zone before settling for a field goal.

Milton threw the ball almost into the stands, stopping the clock with four seconds to play.

Former Vols quarterback Tyler Bray responded to a video of the play, via a tweet on the Twitter/X.com platform, by sarcastically saying "He can throw it 80 yards though".

On that particular play, it appeared that Tennessee wanted to take a quick shot to the end zone to see if anything was open. With no timeouts left, it had to be a wide open throw to the end zone. Anything else would've been too dangerous. The quick incompletion, however, allowed for a few seconds to run off the clock, which meant Tennessee didn't have to worry about defending a kick return after the made field goal (or defend a Hail Mary attempt if the field goal had been missed).

Bray, who still holds a few passing records at Tennessee, is clearly frustrated with the way the season has gone. There's no doubt that the quarterback play could be better this season — Tennessee's offense is averaging just 19 points per game in SEC play — but there's plenty of blame to go around for the Volunteers.
