A former Tennessee Vols quarterback was officially named the starting quarterback at Arkansas State on Tuesday.
According to the depth chart that was released on Tuesday afternoon, former Vols quarterback JT Shrout will start at quarterback for the Red Wolves' season-opener against Oklahoma this weekend.
Shrout, who played at Tennessee from 2018 to 2020, spent the last two seasons at Colorado before transferring to Arkansas State to play for former Tennessee head coach Butch Jones (Shrout didn't play for Jones at UT and he wasn't recruited by Jones, either).
The former three-star recruit from California is entering his final season of eligibility.
