Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Jim Bob Cooter has a new job in the NFL according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Cooter, who played at Tennessee under Philip Fulmer, was named the Jacksonville Jaguars passing game coordinator on Wednesday. He'll work under new Jaguars coach Doug Pederson.
Cooter was most recently a consultant with the Philadelphia Eagles. Prior to that, he was the New York Jets running backs coach in 2019 and 2020. He served as the Detroit Lions offensive coordinator from 2016 to 2018.
The Tennessee native has also been an assistant with the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Indianapolis Colts (Cooter worked with legendary Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning in Indianapolis and Denver).
Cooter was a graduate assistant at Tennessee in 2007 and 2008, Fulmer's last two seasons leading the Vols.
