Former Tennessee Vols standout Cordarrelle Patterson doesn't appear to be happy with his usage during the 2023 season.

Patterson, who is in his third season with the Atlanta Falcons, has just 173 total yards and one touchdown in 13 games this season after totaling 817 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games in 2022 and 1,166 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2021.

The former Vol was listed on Atlanta's depth chart ahead of the season as "joker".

On Monday, the former first round draft pick reposted a tweet on the X.com platform that was critical of Falcon's head coach Arthur Smith's usage of Patterson this season.

"It’s crazy how little we saw Cordarrelle Patterson this year," read the tweet. "Arthur Smith didn’t use him creatively at all, and listed him as 'Joker' on the depth chart. The joke was on all of us."

Not much has gone right in Atlanta this season. The Falcons are 7-9 with one week left to play. And it's becoming increasingly likely that Smith won't return to Atlanta in 2024.

Patterson, meanwhile, is set to be a free agent after the 2023 season. And his market might not be quite as robust as he was hoping because of the way he's been used (or not used) by Smith in 2023.

It's certainly understandable by the former Vol isn't too happy as we near the end of the regular season.
