Former Tennessee Vols star wide receiver Justin Hunter is getting into coaching.

Hunter tweeted on Saturday evening that he's joining the Memphis Tigers' staff as a quality control assistant.

Hunter played at Tennessee from 2010 to 2012 (aka the Derek Dooley years).

The Virginia native caught 106 passes for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns during his time in Knoxville.

Hunter's best season came in 2012 when he caught 73 passes for 1,083 yards and nine touchdowns.

If not for the torn ACL he suffered against Florida in 2011, Hunter would be top five all-time at Tennessee in receiving yards. There's an outside shot that he would've broken the school record for receiving yards if he continued the pace he was on in 2011 before tearing his ACL.

Hunter was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

The former Vol flashed his elite talent at times in the NFL, but he was never able to become a consistent threat in the passing game during his time with the Titans, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Hunter finished his NFL career with 85 receptions for 1,349 yards and 13 touchdowns.

With Hunter getting into coaching at Memphis, maybe there's a chance he lands at Tennessee as an assistant coach down the road. It's certainly possible if he decides he wants to make coaching a long-term career.
