If you're an NFL fan, you'll see plenty of former Tennessee Vols in the AFC West in 2023.
Every AFC West franchise has at least one former Vol on its roster (the Los Angeles Chargers are the only AFC West team without multiple former UT players on their roster).
Earlier this week, former Vols wide receiver Marquez Callaway, who signed with the Denver Broncos this offseason, was asked about playing with wide receiver Brandon Johnson, his former teammate at Tennessee (Johnson finished his collegiate career at UCF), this season.
"I got all types of stories about Brandon," said Callaway when asked about Johnson. "But it's great. Once I figured out I was coming here, he was one of the first guys I hit up and I told him 'let's run this thing back'. Like you said, we went to college together, we came in together as freshmen. So we've been through a long ride. And just seeing him now, seeing the opportunity he's getting from when Tim (Patrick) went down, just seeing the opportunity he's getting and how he's taken a hold of it. And just seeing how he's changed from Tennessee to UCF to now here. So it feels like we've grown on the same path together"
Callaway was then asked if he keeps up with former Vols in the NFL.
"Of course," responded a smiling Callaway. "I can't wait to play Josh Palmer coming up."
Palmer, who played three seasons with Callaway at Tennessee, is entering his third season with the Chargers.
Callaway, Johnson and the Broncos will face Palmer and the Chargers twice this season.
Other former Vols that are also in the AFC West include Matthew Butler and Jakob Johnson (both with the Las Vegas Raiders), as well as Tommy Townsend, Trey Smith, Jerome Carvin, and Wanya Morris (Kansas City Chiefs),
