A former Tennessee Vols wide receiver had his NFL season end before it even started.

The New Orleans Saints placed wide receiver Bub Means on season-ending injured reserve on Wednesday.

Means, who was selected by the Saints in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, spent his true freshman season at Tennessee in 2019 (The former Lovejoy High School standout signed with UT as a two-star recruit during the 2019 recruiting cycle).

After redshirting at Tennessee in 2019, Means transferred to Louisiana Tech, where he spent two seasons. Means then transferred to Pittsburgh for his final two seasons of college eligibility (when Means was at Pitt in 2022, he played against the Vols, catching three passes for 26 yards in the Panthers’ overtime loss to Tennessee).

Means played in seven games for the Saints as a rookie in 2024, catching nine passes for 118 yards and a touchdown.
