Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jauan Jennings clapped back at a rookie teammate at San Francisco 49ers training camp during a fun mic'd up clip that the team posted this week.
49ers rookie cornerback Renardo Green, a second round draft pick out of Florida State, wrapped up Jennings and forced him out of bounds after a pass completion during practice. Green then went up to Jennings and told the former Vol that if they were in pads that he would've taken him to the ground.
"I'm telling you, that's the last thing that's gonna happen," said Jennings in response. "No, bro. Your teammates would've been picking you up off the ground….go do your film research, man."
49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk then asked Jennings what Green was saying after the rep. When Jennings told him, Juszczyk responded by saying "no f—ing chance".
That clip perfectly embodies who Jennings is as a football player. He's going hard in a late July practice while showing the elite competitiveness that we've come to expect from the Tennessee native. Jennings brings energy and competition to every rep, which is what's made him a highly respected player in the 49ers locker room, despite not being a "superstar" like George Kittle or Deebo Samuel.
Here's the full Jennings mic'd up video from the 49ers. It's just five minutes of Jauan being Jauan.
