A former Tennessee Vols football commit will play in Neyland Stadium next fall.

Florida State transfer defensive back Shamar Arnoux reportedly committed to the Auburn Tigers on Monday.

Arnoux is a former four-star recruit who signed with Florida State during the 2025 recruiting cycle. He was committed to Tennessee for nearly a year (April 2023 to February 2024). Arnoux then committed to Auburn before eventually signing with Florida State.

Tennessee continued to pursue Arnoux as a high school recruit even after he decommitted from the Vols.

Arnoux, 6-foot-2/192 pounds from Fort Lauderdale, FL, was rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 43 cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class. He totaled 27 tackles and one pass defensed as a true freshman in 2025.

Auburn makes a lot of sense as a landing spot for Arnoux considering he was recruited to Tennessee by Tim Banks, who is now the Tigers’ co-defensive coordinator/safeties coach (there are also several other UT connections on Auburn’s staff with former Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh now serving as the Tigers’ head coach).

Tennessee and Auburn will meet in Knoxville on October 3, 2026.
