Former Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Darnell Wright was selected with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears.

Wright, a four-year starter at Tennessee, was drafted by the Bears in part because of an insanely difficult workout that Chicago general manager Ryan Poles and offensive line coach Chris Morgan put the former Vol through in Knoxville the day before Easter.

Poles and Morgan threw everything they had at Wright to try to make the former Tennessee standout tap out, but he passed the workout with flying colors.

One thing the Bears love about Wright is his "nasty" playing style on the field.

Wright is soft-spoken, but that's the only thing soft about him. He made it clear that he has one goal when he's on the field — protect the quarterback at all costs.

And if someone hits his quarterback late (which will be Justin Fields in 2023), he's taking it to the parking lot. At least that's what he told 670 The Score after he was drafted by the Bears.

That's the Darnell Wright that Vols fans grew to love over the last four years.

And I have no doubt that Bears fans will soon feel the same way about the dominant offensive tackle.
