Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Josh Dobbs addressed his potential future with the Tennessee Titans on Monday.

Dobbs, who joined the Titans in late December and started the final two games of the season, was asked by reporters on locker cleanout day if he'd like to return to Nashville next season.

The former Tennessee standout made it clear that he'd love to return next season.

"Definitely, I hope so," said Dobbs when asked about returning to the Titans next season. "It's been what, like 19, 20 days (since signing with the Titans). It feels like it's been three months."

"I've enjoyed it," added Dobbs. "I've had a lot of fun. I also feel comfortable. Enjoyed getting to know the guys and being around the team. As we all know, I love Tennessee so hopefully, it works out. I know obviously, offseason, free agency, it gets crazy. But I would love to be back here."

"I've had great conversations with the coaching staff and the front office. There's a lot of situations, a lot of moving parts that go on with it and so I'll be patient. But yeah, I'm very optimistic about it."

Dobbs went 0-2 in his two starts with the Titans, but he played well in both games for a guy that hadn't been in the building very long and didn't know the whole offensive playbook.

I doubt Dobbs will ever get a look as a full-time starter, but he's a better backup option than some of the quarterbacks we've seen across the league this season. And he showed that he can give a team a chance to win as a spot starter.

The Titans would be wise to bring Dobbs back as a backup option while they continue to evaluate quarterback Malik Willis, a third-round pick by Tennessee last spring. Willis looked extremely raw during his few chances this season, but the Titans can't give up on him after just one season. They can't count on him in a spot start situation, either.

It's going to be an interesting offseason for the Titans, a team that needs a new general manager and possibly a new offensive coordinator. We'll see in the coming weeks/months if Dobbs is going to be part of their plans.
