Neyland Stadium was the site of an incredible game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Tennessee Vols on Saturday afternoon.
It was also the site of a heartbreaking 44-41 overtime loss for the Volunteers.

Georgia’s Kirby Smart confirms what Tennessee fans already knew about Vols’ overtime loss to the Bulldogs
Tennessee may have lost on Saturday, but it was easily the best the Vols have played the Bulldogs during the Josh Heupel era.

Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart said on ABC after the game that he felt like Tennessee deserved to win.
“I’m really proud of this team,” said Smart. “Tennessee deserved to win this game. We didn’t play our best game. I got a lot of respect for the way [Tennessee] played. But these kids never quit…..we didn’t play really well defensively, but gotta give Tennessee a lot of credit.”
That probably won’t make Vols fans feel better about the loss, but it’s true. A few things late in the game just didn’t go Tennessee’s way. But it can leave Neyland Stadium knowing that it’s right there with Georgia. If anything, that should motivate the Vols even more moving forward.
