Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker gave UT fans a reason to smile ahead of a big showdown in the Orange Bowl against the Clemson Tigers.
When the Vols play Clemson on Friday night in Miami, it will be Joe Milton under center instead of Hooker.
That's because Hooker tore his ACL in Tennessee's loss to South Carolina — the penultimate game of the regular season.
Despite the injury and the fact that Hooker's next snap will be taken in the NFL, the Greensboro, NC native is with the team in Miami for the big game.
Hooker posted a photo of himself arriving in Miami for the Orange Bowl on Christmas Day.
It's unfortunate that Hooker doesn't get to take the field with his teammates one last time — there's no doubt that he wants to be out there.
But at least he's there with the team. I imagine there's nowhere else he'd rather be than with his Volunteer brothers as they prepare for a huge game against Clemson.
If Tennessee can beat the Tigers, it'll give the Vols 11 wins for the time since 2001.
