Important Vols football recruiting target will no longer be at Tennessee’s basketball game against Kentucky
The Tennessee Vols were expected to host an important 2027 five-star recruit on Saturday.
An important Tennessee Vols football recruiting target that was expected to be at UT’s basketball game against the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday is no longer going to be in town.
2027 five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson was planning to be at Tennessee this weekend for a visit.
Instead, Dobson will now visit the Texas A&M Aggies.
Dobson tweeted on Thursday that he’s rescheduling his Tennessee visit.
It’s unclear why Dobson is rescheduling his visit.
Texas A&M is a legitimate threat to land Joshua Dobson
The Vols have done a good job of recruiting Dobson, but so have several other programs.
Dobson’s visit to Texas A&M, for example, will be his fourth trip to College Station.
The five-star recruit likes what he’s seen from the Aggies’ defense.
“The defensive scheme and what they are looking for out of their cornerbacks,” said Dobson to On3 of his interest in Texas A&M.
Dobson, 6-foot-1/175 pounds from Fort Mill, SC, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 2 cornerback in the nation and the No. 3 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
Auburn, Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Notre Dame, and LSU are some other programs that are also in the mix for Dobson.
