Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jauan Jennings received a huge compliment on Monday night from one of the NFL's biggest stars.
Jennings, who has developed into a key player for the San Francisco 49ers over the last couple of years, was praised by 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey as one of the best blocking wide receivers in the NFL.
"Jauan Jennings is one the best blocking wide receivers I’ve ever seen," said McCaffrey during an appearance on ESPN's ManningCast on Monday night during the matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers.
Jennings doesn't put up huge numbers for the 49ers — he has 13 receptions for 265 yards and one touchdown this season — but he stays on the field in San Francisco because of his commitment to blocking in the run game. And the fact that he never takes a play off.
Jennings, a seventh-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, is poised to have a long NFL career because of the effort and toughness he brings to the field on every play.
