Tennessee Vols quarterback Joe Milton announced on Wednesday morning that he's beginning his preparation for the 2024 NFL Draft, which means true freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava will start for UT in the Citrus Bowl against Iowa on New Year's Day.

But just because Milton is opting out of the Citrus Bowl, doesn't mean he's already left the Tennessee football program.

In fact, Milton is still serving in a very important role for the Vols this week.

According to VolQuest's Austin Price, Milton is in Orlando this week and he's going through offensive meetings with the team.

Nico is incredibly talented. He's the type of quarterback that could eventually win a Heisman Trophy. But he's never started a college football game. Milton's experience will be crucial this week as he helps Nico prepare for his first career college start.

Milton has been a team-first guy throughout his tenure at Tennessee. And that's not stopping this week just because he decided to opt out of the Citrus Bowl.
