After leading the Minnesota Vikings to an improbable win against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Josh Dobbs managed to bring up one of the Tennessee Vols' biggest SEC rivalries during his post-game press conference.
Dobbs, who joined Minnesota last Wednesday and didn't even practice with the team ahead of Sunday's game, threw the game-winning touchdown pass to Vikings wide receiver Brandon Powell.
During the post-game presser, Dobbs was asked if he knew Powell's last name before throwing the game-winning pass to him.
Dobbs noted that he was familiar with Powell because the Vikings wide receiver played college football at Florida.
"I did know, because he went to Florida," said Dobbs. "So I got a little beef with him because he's a Florida guy and I'm a Tennessee guy. I told him, I like him today. Today we're on the same side, so it's all good."
Dobbs played at Tennessee from 2013 to 2016 while Powell played at Florida from 2014 to 2017.
Interestingly, Powell was committed to Tennessee for two months during the summer of 2013. He decommitted from UT in early August that year before committing to Miami. Powell eventually signed with the Gators.
