As good as Josh Dobbs has been for the Minnesota Vikings over the last three weeks — the team is 2-1 since acquiring Dobbs from the Arizona Cardinals — the former Tennessee Vols standout hasn't had a chance yet to play with wide receiver Justin Jefferson, one of the best players in the NFL.
Jefferson has been out since the Vikings' loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on October 8 while dealing with a hamstring injury.
The former LSU star is practicing after spending some time on IR, but that doesn't mean he'll play this week against the Chicago Bears.
In fact, The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported this week that Jefferson is "not expected" to play on Monday night against the Bears.
From The Athletic: Justin Jefferson is not expected to play on Monday Night Football in Week 12 against the Bears because of his hamstring, per a team source. The Vikings are not going to push their best player to get back on the field despite the fact that they are in the playoff hunt. This all makes sense as it will give the receiver two more weeks of rest from game action, thanks to the Vikings being on their bye in Week 13.
Jefferson's return will certainly make life a lot easier for Dobbs, but it looks like the former Vol will have to wait one more week to get his superstar teammate back on the field.
