Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Vols pick up a big win in Georgia on their way to Florida
The Vols got some good news to start off a big weekend.
The Tennessee Volunteers are on their way to the Sunshine State on Friday, where they’ll face the Florida Gators and look to end a 22-year drought in the Swamp.
For those looking for good vibes for the weekend for the Big Orange, things have started out well for the Vols on the recruiting front. Josh Heupel secured the pledge of 2027 four-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife (Summerville, GA) on Friday, according to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
Four-star DL Kadin Fife commits to Tennessee on Friday
Fife checks in at 6’5″, 290 pounds per Rivals out of Summerville, Georgia (Chattooga High School). Rivals ranks him as the #315 overall player, #40 defensive lineman, and #36 player in the state of Georgia for the 2027 cycle. He holds offers from a number of notable programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Penn State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Florida State, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, and several others.
Tennessee’s defensive line has made plenty of plays and churned out NFL talent under Josh Heupel, which sure doesn’t hurt on the recruiting trail to attract recruits. Despite the lack of overall attention from the recruiting outlets, Fife’s talent is evident in the number and quality of teams that were pursuing him, and he should have a good chance to come in and earn a spot in Tim Banks’ defensive line rotation once he gets to campus in 2027.
Fife becomes the fourth commitment in Tennessee’s 2027 class and the second four-star pledge, joining Murfreesboro, TN offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo.
