The Tennessee Vols' most painful recruiting loss during the 2024 cycle was easily five-star offensive lineman Jordan Seaton.
Seaton, the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation, surprised the nation earlier this month when he committed to Colorado over Tennessee, Oregon, Alabama, and Ohio State.
The five-star recruit is expected to sign with Colorado on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.
Oddly enough, Seaton will play for an offensive line coach at Colorado that Vols head coach Josh Heupel is quite familiar with.
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders hired Phil Loadholt to coach the Buffaloes' offensive line just before Seaton's commitment earlier this month.
Loadholt is a former Oklahoma offensive lineman that played for the Sooners from 2007 to 2009. Heupel was OU's quarterbacks coach for all three seasons that Loadholt played at Oklahoma (Loadholt was also teammates with Vols offensive coordinator Joey Halzle for two seasons at Oklahoma).
Heupel also gave Loadholt his first coaching job. After spending seven seasons in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, Loadholt joined Heupel's staff at UCF for two seasons as an offensive assistant. He went on to spend two years as an analyst at Ole Miss under Lane Kiffin before returning to Oklahoma as an analyst for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Loadholt's posiiton at Colorado will be his first on-field coaching job. And he'll immediately have one of the most talented players in the nation in Seaton.

Pili, a BYU transfer who suffered a season-ending injury in the Vols' season-opening win against Virginia, will be a seventh-year senior in 2024. On Monday, he explained why he wanted […]
