Tennessee Vols fans finally got the answer to the question that they've been asking for the last couple of weeks.

Sophomore defensive back Boo Carter's status with the Vols has been up in the air for the last week or so.

Carter reportedly missed numerous team activities over the summer, which didn't sit well with members of Tennessee's leadership council.

There's been speculation that Carter could be dismissed from the Vols' roster.

According to ESPN's Chris Low, Carter is not being dismissed from the team.

"Lotta speculation about the future of Tennessee DB Boo Carter the last two weeks after he missed multiple workouts, but sources tell ESPN that Carter is not being dismissed from the team," tweeted Low on Tuesday afternoon.

Heupel told reporters on Tuesday that Carter has "some things" he has to do to get back on the field.

"Boo is a part of our team here," said Heupel. "There's some things that he's got to accomplish to get back on the field with us. Don't have a set timeline on that. Our leadership council has been a part of those things, those discussions with me and with Boo. I'm proud of what they've done. They care about and love Boo, and want him to be at his best, too. And you know, through this thing, Boo sees that as well."
