A key player that was injured in the loss to Georgia is expected to be available for the Tennessee Vols' this weekend against the Missouri Tigers.
Vols running back Jabari Small was injured on a run early in the game and appeared to hurt his shoulder.
Small didn't return to the game.
Tennessee running backs coach Jerry Mack said during an appearance on the Knoxville QB club on Monday that Small should play against the Tigers.
"Jabari’s been battling some shoulder issues on and off throughout the season," said Mack this week "Sometimes they catch up with him, and he took a pretty good hit on his shoulder during the course of the game. Tried to go back in the game, couldn’t quite finish."
“We evaluated him," added Mack. "He came in yesterday. He ran around this morning with the team, as well. He should be back.”
Jaylen Wright leads the Vols in rushing this season, but Small is just 64 yards behind him.
Small is also more of a threat out of the backfield as a receiver. That's something that Tennessee missed in the loss to Georgia after Small was forced out of the game.
The Vols should be able to handle Missouri, but the Tigers have played well defensively this season. If Tennessee isn't on top of their game, Missouri could steal a win in Neyland Stadium. Having Small back will certainly help prevent that from happening.
