The Tennessee Vols baseball program received some fantastic news on Tuesday.

Outfielder Hunter Ensley announced just before noon on Tuesday that he's returning to Tennessee for the 2025 season.

Ensley, who was a redshirt junior this past season, will be entering his fifth season with the Volunteers.

"Staying home! Let's run it back," wrote Ensley in a post on Twitter/X.com.

The right-handed outfielder slashed .296/.388/.532 for the Vols last season while hitting 12 home runs and driving in 48 runs.

Ensley, who is from Huntingdon, TN (though he was born in Alaska), provided two of the most memorable moments during the 2024 College World Series.

First there was the incredible catch he made in Tennessee's win against North Carolina (which left eye black on the wall in Omaha).

Then there was the incredible slide against Texas A&M. Ensley's slide into home proved to be the go-ahead run in the Vols' win against the Aggies in the deciding game of the College World Series finals.

Ensley was draft eligible in 2023, but he went undrafted. He wasn't expected to be an early-round selection in this year's MLB draft.
