Lane Kiffin took another shot at Tennessee, but Vols fans can’t even be mad about it this time
Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin rarely misses a chance to troll the Tennessee Vols. Which is why it’s no surprise that Kiffin randomly took a shot at Tennessee on Wednesday. Which is why it’s no surprise that Kiffin randomly took a shot at Tennessee on Wednesday.
Kiffin and Ole Miss are set to open the 2025 college football season against Georgia State in Oxford on August 30.
Tennessee, as Vols fans are well aware, lost at home to Georgia State in the first week of the 2019 college football season.
Kiffin tweeted a photo of the final score of Tennessee’s loss to Georgia State along with a plea to Rebels fans to show up and be loud.
Ouch. I don’t think Vols fans needed a reminder of that loss from the Jeremy Pruitt era.
Kiffin, who was the head coach at Tennessee in 2009 before infamously leaving for the USC job after just one season on Rocky Top, often takes to Twitter to throw jabs at the Vols (though I think it’s all in good fun…Kiffin, at times, seems to root for Tennessee, too).
For example, there was the time he threw out a golf ball for the first pitch at an Ole Miss baseball game (which was a reference to the time a fan threw a golf ball at Kiffin when Ole Miss played Tennessee in Neyland Stadium).
Or the time Kiffin tweeted “good luck” and “get off to a great start” to Tennessee baseball — 12 hours after they’d already lost Game One of the 2024 College World Series (clever troll move, to be honest).
Classic Kiffin. Always on social media, always trolling.

It wasn’t that Peyton thought Woodson was undeserving of the award — it was that dealing with the cameras and the media, only to […]
