Mock draft projections for Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt have been all over the place.
I've seen Hyatt going anywhere from the middle of the first round to the middle of the second round.
Some analysts believe Hyatt's elite speed combined with his success at Tennessee in 2022 makes him a certain first-round selection.
Other analysts believe Hyatt still has a lot to prove as a wide receiver (they question his ability to have success against press coverage and his route-running skills).
Most of the mock drafts have Hyatt going to the Los Angeles Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, or New Orleans Saints.
The latest mock draft from CBS Sports, however, has Hyatt landing in a different spot — one that would make a lot of sense for the former Vol.
CBS Sports has the Buffalo Bills drafting Hyatt with the No. 27 overall selection.
Stefon Diggs is elite, and Dawson Knox has grown into a reliable red-zone threat. The rest of the pass catchers, most notably Gabe Davis, were underwhelming, so Jalin Hyatt would provide the gun-slinging Josh Allen with another burner who can get behind the defense.
This would definitely be a great landing spot for Hyatt.
While I think Hyatt's skillset is much more diverse than some analysts suggest, there's no doubt that his ability to stretch the field vertically is his biggest strength.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen has a big arm. If you combine that big arm with Hyatt's game-breaking speed, it could lead to an unstoppable combination in Buffalo.
We saw last season that the Bills' offense needs something to put them over the top. Hyatt could be that something.
