Los Angeles Guard Dalton Knecht, a former Tennessee Vols standout, was excited about playing against teammate LeBron James on Sunday in an NBA All- Star game matchup.

But unfortunately for Knecht, that matchup will have to wait.

James announced on Sunday that he won't be playing in the NBA All-Star game on Sunday night as he's dealing with ankle and foot discomfort.

"I will not be playing tonight, unfortunately," said LeBron. "I hate that. But I'm looking forward to seeing the format. It's the first year for it. They call us the OGs — that's hilarious. We do have a few guys with gray hairs so that makes sense. That should be fun. I saw that quote the other day where DK (Dalton Knecht) was talking about he was gonna play against me. So I guess I'll see him at practice. And hopefully I'll be at practice and we go at it then."

Knecht's Rising Stars team won the Rising Stars game on Saturday. As a result, Knecht was set to play against an All-Star team on Sunday evening that included LeBron.

"I might play against Bron, right," said Knecht on Saturday night. "Is that true? So I get to go against one of my teammates. It'll be fun to go out there and try to make a statement."
