Longtime NFL analyst/broadcaster Brian Baldinger, who spent 11 years in the NFL, isn't a fan of how the New York Giants are using former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt.

Baldinger took to Twitter after the Giants' Week 3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers to question why Hyatt played only 16 snaps (and wasn't targeted) after leading New York in receiving the previous week against the Arizona Cardinals (despite playing only 14 snaps against the Cardinals).

Baldinger isn't the only one that's questioned the Giants' usage of Hyatt.

I haven't watched a lot of the Giants this season — and even if I had, it's tough to tell what's happening without watching the full All-22 film — so it's hard to say what the deal is in New York.

From what little I've seen, it doesn't appear that Daniel Jones has had time to get the ball down the field to Hyatt.

The Giants, however, should still be trying to find a way to get the rookie more involved. New York's offense looked its best in the second half against Arizona, which is when Hyatt was the most involved in the passing game. It seems inexcusable to play him only 16 snaps a week after leading the team in receiving in the Giants' only win of the season.

If New York wants to get the offense back on track, they should probably find a way to get the ball in Hyatt's hands more often. For a team that's lacking explosive plays, it doesn't make much sense to keep one of their most explosive playmakers on the bench.
