Country music superstar Luke Combs is set to play at Neyland Stadium, the home of the Tennessee Vols, next spring.
It was officially announced on Thursday that Combs will play a concert at Neyland Stadium on May 2. It’ll be the first concert at Neyland Stadium since Morgan Wallen played two shows there in 2024.
Combs grew up in Asheville, NC, which is just a couple of hours east of Knoxville.
There’s one thing Luke Combs must do with Tennessee Vols head coach Josh Heupel during concert in Neyland Stadium
When Combs takes the stage in Neyland Stadium next spring, there should be plenty of Tennessee coaches and players (from various sports) in the building.
(Unfortunately, Tony Vitello and the BaseVols won’t be in town — they’ll be in Lexington for a weekend series against the Kentucky Wildcats.)
We can only assume that Combs will bring some Vols athletes/coaches on stage.
Hopefully, we’ll see Combs bring Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel on stage to sing “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma”.
I mean, it’s gotta happen.
Heupel, of course, won a national championship as a player at Oklahoma in 2000. He then spent nearly a decade on Bob Stoops’ staff at OU before he was unceremoniously let go.
Last year, when the Vols beat the Sooners in Norman, Tennessee blared “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” in the locker room while Heupel spoke to reporters.
Bringing Heupel on stage to sing that song would send the crowd at Neyland Stadium into a frenzy.
I don’t know, however, if Heupel will be up for it — he isn’t the type to ruffle feathers like Lane Kiffin or Eli Drinkwitz — but it would be an amazing moment for fans.
By the way, Combs, who went to Appalachian State, is familiar with Vols quarterback Joey Aguilar, who played two seasons for the Mountaineers in Boone. The two met each other while Aguilar was the quarterback at App State.

‘I’m expecting chaos’ – Arkansas defensive lineman knows the Tennessee Vols are looking for revenge against the Razorbacks
There’s little doubt that the Tennessee Vols will be looking for revenge on Saturday when the Arkansas Razorbacks visit Neyland Stadium. Arkansas beat Tennessee 19-14 last season in Fayetteville. The loss ended up knocking the Vols out of position to host a game in the first round of the College Football Playoff (UT went on […]
