National analyst makes prediction for one of the Tennessee Vols’ top 2027 recruiting targets
The Tennessee Vols could be on the verge of receiving good recruiting news.
The Tennessee Vols could be on the verge of receiving some very good recruiting news.
2027 four-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman is one of the Vols’ top recruiting targets.
Bowman, 6-foot-1/174 pounds from Brentwood, TN, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 7 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee. He’s also rated as the No. 41 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
Earlier this week, On3’s Chad Simmons noted that “the buzz around Tennessee continues to grow in Bowman’s recruitment.”
Vanderbilt, Miami, Alabama, and Ohio State are also pursuing Bowman.
Chad Simmons predicts that Tennessee will win the battle for Kesean Bowman
Simmons is now predicting, with 60 percent confidence, that Tennessee will win the battle for Bowman.
The national recruiting analyst also pointed out that Oregon, which previously held Bowman’s commitment (he decommitted from the Ducks last September), is no longer in the mix for the talented wide receiver.
“The Ducks are no longer in the mix for the four-star wide receiver out of Brentwood (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy,” wrote Simmons. “Since reopening his recruitment, the process has been fluid with Tennessee, Alabama, Vanderbilt and Miami each carrying favorite buzz at different points. Right now, Tennessee is surging again. Bowman will return to Knoxville next week, and Josh Heupel and the Vols’ staff are pushing hard to land the in-state receiver in this class.”
Vols wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope has been elite on the recruiting trail in recent years. It’s certainly no surprise that he has Tennessee on the verge of landing another top wide receiver recruit.
Bowman, for now, doesn’t have a planned commitment date.
Tennessee currently has four players committed to its 2027 recruiting class.
