The Tennessee Vols will receive one of the 10 biggest recruiting visits of the weekend according to Rivals.com.
On Friday, Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney broke down the 10 biggest recruiting visits of the weekend. And he included 2026 four-star safety Zelus Hicks' visit to Tennessee for the Kentucky game on Saturday on his list.
Hicks has been committed to Texas since September.
From Rivals.com: When Hicks committed to Texas in September, Auburn was the main competitor in his recruitment so it’s interesting that the 2026 four-star safety from Carrollton, Ga., is heading to Tennessee this weekend.
The relationships and the development that he sees with the Longhorns definitely has him locked in for now but the Vols and many others are still working on flipping him.
Hicks, 6-foot-2/190 lbs from Carrollton, GA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 3 safety in the nation and the No. 5 player in the state of Georgia. He's also rated as the No. 29 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
For now, it doesn't seem like the Vols are a huge factor for Hicks. But that could of course change with a great visit to Tennessee this weekend. The Vols are expecting a rowdy crowd on Saturday night for the Kentucky game, so that could certainly help the Vols in their pursuit of Hicks.
The secret to quickly unlocking Nico Iamaleava’s talent has been discovered, but Tennessee might not be willing to do it
Kinda a catch 22 for the Vols
