The Tennessee Vols entered week two of the college football season as the No. 24 ranked team in the nation.
After a big road win against No. 17 Pittsburgh, that ranking will change on Sunday when the new AP Top 25 poll is released.
But how much will it change?
Well, one national writer has the Vols jumping 13 spots this week.
Brandon Marcello, a college football writer for 247Sports, thinks Tennessee will be ranked No. 11 in the new top 25 poll.
I don't know if the Vols will make this big of a jump, but they should fall inside the top 20 at the very least.
That's because numerous teams ahead of Tennessee (including Pittsburgh) in the top 25 lost on Saturday:
- No. 6 Texas A&M lost to Appalachian State
- No. 8 Notre Dame lost to Marshall
- No. 19 Wisconsin lost to Washington State
- No. 12 Florida lost to No. 20 Kentucky
- No. 9 Baylor lost to BYU
Additionally, No. 15 Miami won, but they looked shaky in a 30-7 against Southern Mississippi. The Hurricanes could certainly slip a few spots in the top 25.
I doubt Tennessee jumps all the way to No. 11. They should, however, end up ranked somewhere between No. 15 and No. 20.
