The Tennessee Vols landed a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Ethan Utley on Thursday.

Utley, 6-foot-4/265 lbs from Nashville, TN, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 19 defensive line in the nation and the No. 4 player in the state of Tennessee.

The passion of Tennessee fans was one of the main things that attracted Utley to the Vols.

"The best fans in college football," said Utley to Rivals.com after his commitment. "They travel the best. I remember when I was at the Titans Stadium when they played Virginia and the whole stadium was swamped in orange. They bring Rocky Top wherever they go. The enthusiasm they show for the players and love even after they graduate is beyond loving and they are getting a real crowd pleaser in me.”

Tennessee fans make a difference when it comes to recruiting. Utley's comments are similar to comments made by countless other highly rated recruits.

The top players in the country want to play in the most electric environments in college football. And Tennessee's terrific fan base is the reason that Neyland Stadium continues to be one of the most electric atmospheres in all of sports.
