The Tennessee Vols are one of several teams in the mix for 2025 five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr.

Sanders, 6-foot-6/270 lbs from Charlotte, NC, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina. He's also rated as the No. 2 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee are the three programs that are sticking out for Sanders so far during his recruitment (though other programs like Clemson and North Carolina are also on his radar).

When it comes to the Vols, Sanders likes the idea of being able to see the field early in his collegiate career.

“I would say the opportunity to play early. If you go to a school like Georgia or Alabama, some guys are known to sit a couple years," said Sanders to 247Sports when asked about the Vols. "At Tennessee you have the opportunity to come in and make a difference as a freshman. I love the coaching there from Coach (Josh) Heupel on down. Coach (Glen) Elarbee is a great guy.”

Sanders told 247Sports that he's planning to attend junior days for Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee in January/February. He's also planning to check out Texas.

The Vols currently have four players committed to their 2025 recruiting class (three defensive backs and a running back).
